Congratulations to Aspen Hughes, who has been awarded the Cargill Fellowship from the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biophysics!
The fellowship will provide funding for one year of Aspen’s PhD studies and support their continued research in the Diezmann Lab. The Cargill Fellowship supports outstanding doctoral students pursuing their studies at the College of Biological Sciences. It was established in honor of Carol and Wayne Pletcher: Carol earned her PhD in biochemistry from the College of Biological Sciences in 1979 before building a career at Cargill, while Wayne spent much of his career as a research scientist and executive at 3M.
We’re thrilled to see Aspen’s hard work and dedication recognized with this fellowship. Congratulations!
About the Diezmann Lab
The Diezmann Lab studies how molecules sense, communicate, and coordinate inside living cells, using single-molecule imaging and quantitative biophysics to uncover the hidden signals that shape reproduction, genetic diversity, and life itself.
