Welcome to the Diezmann Lab

Decoding the language of chromosomes

The Diezmann Lab studies how molecules sense, communicate, and coordinate inside living cells, using single-molecule imaging and quantitative biophysics to uncover the hidden signals that shape reproduction, genetic diversity, and life itself.

Our Research

Signals flow across chromosomes with remarkable precision and coordination. We want to know how.

Using live-cell microscopy, single-molecule tracking, and quantitative biophysics, we study how chromosomes exchange information during reproduction, revealing the molecular systems that guide DNA repair, genetic diversity, and the faithful transmission of life across generations.

Life emerges from simple rules—but how those rules shape and transform our genetic code remains one of the most beautiful mysteries we seek to understand.

Why This Work Matters

By translating the hidden language of chromosomes, we gain new insight into the fundamental rules that allow life to persist across generations.
